To all who may think that GiòCondoR authors are uncultured: this time we talk of a book of Mister Aster, published in Italy by Avverbi (2005, three paltry euros). The Editor in chief of GiòCondoR, Sabatino Di Gorgo, has appreciated this book so much that he took paper, pen and ingpot (he is not illiterate!) to write to Mister Aster, alter ego nomeaninglessthan the famous author, ludologist and puzzle creator Ennio Peres.

We publish here the integral text of Di Gorgo’s letter, moreover comparable with the number of characters of the book itself.

Dear Mr. Peres,
I write to congratulate you on the fine book “How to become rich with gambling games”: I swear you that it was so fascinating that I finished it in a twinkling!
What a clear writing! What an expository clarity! I have never had the occasion to read a “white book” so rigorous on gambling games!
Moreover, a book that has various uses and it is not only to the passive fruition typical of some literary essays…
I really hope that your book will have the success that it deserves and that it is wished in the book itself!!!
(Translator‘s note: the book is entirely made of white pages, with the exception of the first one that explains that the only sure method to become rich with gambling games is… to write a book on this subject!)

In this issue of GiocAreA OnLine we talked about railroad games (1830, 1870 and so on…), therefore we teach you to play 1430, a brand new game based on the above indicated masterpieces. All you need is a map of that time of a European city. Did you find it? Ok, place it in the centre of the table and take paper and pen to write down the points.
The first player to stand up and go takes a 100-points penalty, and so on with all the other players. The last sitting at the table wins, even if she will have to wait some centuries before she could have her first railroad…
Fun for everybody!
