THE USUAL STUFF

The "traditional" or "public domain" games are sometimes an overlooked source for brilliant ideas: as you can find out in the following pages, a very popular game in one remote country of the world may become a top-seller hit in another part of the world... if a publisher is smart enough to add a box around it. Obviously, kudos to the ones who looked for and found the game! - especially if you think that these researches usually bring nothing, because they're bound to some courtyards the publishers know well, or to the three or four things they actually know.
How many SNAKES AND LADDERS have you found in magazines or published as promotional stuff? And again, how many CHESS and LUDO published to promote or exploit a comic book character that may have deserved a less trivial game?
Speaking about comic book, we introduce in "GiòCondor" the board games strips by Luigi Ferrini and Benedetto Gemma: when we will have enough of those (I mean, enough materials! :-) maybe we will print a deck of cards à la MUNCHKIN. In order to play QUARTET of course!
