THE CASTLE OF CROSSED DESTINIES

I stole the heading from an Italo Calvino's book, which is someway similar to the ones we talk about in this GiocAreA issue: do you know this (marvelous) Italian writer? I think you should! Speaking about Italy, we were in the Essen Messe (21-24 october), and we
really... felt at home!
The Italian task force is increasing in numbers and quality: publishing companies (daVinci, Kidult, Nexus,Venice Connection/Studiogiochi, Red Omega... I hope I didn't forget too many people!), distributors (Tilsit Italia, Raven, Games-busters...) authors and self producers (Emanuele "Mind the Move" Ornella, whose Oltremare was the Italian surprise of the fair; the newcomer/evergreen Angelo "Warangel" Porazzi; Giogames; and a bunch of good authors, like Carlo Rossi, Walter Obert, Alex Zucchini...).

The "Italian thing" is becoming an international affair: for instance, we just noticed that the 2004 Games Magazine selection awarded ALEXANDROS, and the full list of nominations includes FANTASY PUB, WINGS OF WAR, TUCHULCHA and VIVA IL RE!/KING ME!, and the Funagain best seller list was topped for weeks by WAR OF THE RING and BANG!.

How could we ignore it? So, we are working on an "Italian style" GAOL: I could steal the header from a Selecta game (a company who really likes Italian-ish names). Would you prefer Corso Cannelloni, Picco Gusto, or Papa Gallo?
